Bill Gallegos is a native of the United States. He became involved in social activism for the first time in the 1960s, working with Crusade for Justice, an organization that advocated for the civil rights of Chicanos (Mexican Americans). Later, he encouraged workers, students and communities to come together to defend their rights.
With a passion for social justice, Bill Gallegos joined Communities for a Better Environment, an organization founded in 1978 and dedicated to defending the right to a healthy environment, particularly for people of colour and the working class. He is also a member of the California Environmental Justice Advisory Committee. Put simply, he does everything in his power to ensure that the most vulnerable people in our society have a reasonable quality of life, free from pollution.
