Fabrice ANDRÉ

Biography

A native of France, Fabrice André is an inventive person with a highly developed environmental conscience. He had planned on a career in agriculture, and first studied at the École nationale d’ingénieurs des techniques agricoles, the national agricultural university. However, he soon realized that modern agricultural practices were too far removed from his sustainable development values.

In 2003, Fabrice André decided to put his talent for invention to work with the skills of his girlfriend, Catherine Bergiron, an interior designer. Together, they rebuilt the Refuge du Col-de-Sarenne, a mountain lodge which had been destroyed by a fire 20 years earlier. Their love of nature led them to develop innovative solutions, creating a building in complete harmony with nature, in the heart of the Alps.
